• High-impact onboarding practices that support teachers once they arrive

• Opportunities to exchange best practices and learn from other recruiters’ experiences

Agenda:

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Part One: Strategies and Approaches to prepare new hires before they arrive in your community, practical approaches to ensure schools and systems are ready to receive new hires

2:00 pm - 3:15 pm - Part Two: High-impact onboarding practices that support teachers once they arrive,  networking with peers to exchange best practices and learn what is and isn't working from other communities

    About Candice Marie Holt (Facilitator)

    Candice Marie Holt is the Founder and CEO of Clockwork Coaching and Consulting for Teachers Inc.  She supports system leaders, school leaders, and educators in addressing classroom instability, violence, burnout, recruitment, onboarding, and retention challenges.  As a certified teacher, Candice has over 10 years of experience working in Ontario, Manitoba and Nunavut.  She is highly experienced in serving diverse high-needs and remote fly-in communities.  Candice helps prepare new teachers for today’s classrooms and works with veteran teachers on sustainability.  She is a natural problem solver who cares deeply about student success.  Candice has done work for the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, the African Canadian Social Development Council, schools in the Durham District School Board, ApplyToEducation, and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.  This July, Candice Marie Holt will be speaking at the Canada International Conference on Education.
