Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
Experience working with youth;
Experience working with at-risk students in senior level courses would be an asset;
Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset;
Experience working in a self-paced, self-directed learning environment would be an asset;
Experience working with First Nations students and integrating First Nations ways of knowing and doing into programming would be an asset;
Ability to assist students in Grade 10-12 level Mathematics and Science courses is an asset.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and other support staff;
Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
Ability to work as a member of a team;
Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
Ability to work with minimal supervision;
Able to prepare healthy snacks and lunches.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;
Food Safe Level I, or willingness to complete within 3 months;
Standard First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to complete within 3 months;
Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the 2022/23 school year.
