Learning Support Services K-12 Curriculum Consultant – Mathematics
Permanent Full-Time (1.00 FTE)
Located at the Catholic Education Center

Our 13 elementary schools, 4 grades 7 to 12 schools and an adult learning center enjoy strong partnerships with parents, parishes, staff and the community who work together to help our students achieve their full potential and experience success. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for Mathematics and for teaching and learning.
This position is available effective immediately and will receive a responsibility allowance as per the appropriate Collective Agreement. The successful incumbent will become a permanent employee with Sudbury Catholic Schools and a member of the OECTA bargaining unit.
Description:
Under the leadership of the Superintendent of Education, the K-12 Curriculum Consultant will be responsible for supporting our staff and students in the successful implementation of the K to 12 Mathematics curriculum through:
Professional learning and supports for teachers on the implementation of high impact instructional strategies in mathematics;
Working with schools in the facilitation of parent engagement in their children’s math learning;
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
Must possess three (3) of the four (4) divisions
Must possess a Specialist or Honours Specialist in a related field - Mathematics (those who do not yet possess a specialist may apply and be considered if there is a commitment to obtain the qualifications – subsidies may be available)
Religious Education Part 1 (or commitment to obtain within first 24 months of employ – a subsidy is provided)
Must have solid experience and expertise in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessment and teaching
Must possess exceptional and well-developed communication skills (oral and written)
Demonstrated ability to utilize differentiated instruction
Well-developed organizational skills
A commitment to addressing equity and special education needs
Ability to incorporate technology into the teaching and learning cycle
Solid understanding of the cross curricular connection to learning
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students, staff, and parents
Flexibility and adaptability
An ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic Education and integrating the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations within the curriculum
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Ability to provide regular attendance

Conditions of employment include: the completion of a police record check, Vulnerable Sector Check, satisfactory to the Board that is completed within 6 months prior to employment, as well as the Certificate of completion for the Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training (details will be provided following an offer of employment).
