Reporting directly to the Director, Camp Programs, the Camp Office Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Camp Office, requiring both excellent customer service skills and unmatched trouble-shooting abilities.
Ensuring all Covid-19 Safety protocols and Government regulations are being followed
Responsibilities would include 1.5-2 weeks (approximately) of pre-summer work of camp planning, organizing and purchasing supplies
Monthly Senior Staff meetings December through June
Responsible for assisting with all administrative duties of the Camp Office
Provide reception duties include main camp phone, visitor/parent/camper reception, general and camp email inquiries
Corresponding and checking email Camp Admin & Camps email address
Responsible for the preparation of weekly camp binders: attendance & reports
Coordinate with Camp Staff of weekly progress reports, birthday cards and evaluation
Assists with on-going maintenance of camp manuals, including attendance procedures, for posting and cross-training purposes
Post Camp Review
Debrief after Summer is completed
Suggestions/Ideas for the following summer
Create Lessons Learned/Best practices documentation
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated strong administrative frontline work experience
1- 2 years of previous administrative experience
Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Experience with Appleby Camps considered an asset
Relevant work experience in camps, recreation or educational environments considered an asset
Solid knowledge of word, excel, outlook and other database systems such as Camp Brain and Microsoft Access is preferred
Articulate and professional ability to communicate
Strong multi-tasking abilities, trouble-shooting skills and the ability to perform under pressure in accordance with daily challenges
Standard First Aid Training and CPR- C or higher required (certified on or after September 2020)
Successful candidates must attend the required training sessions from Attend mandatory training June 3 – 5, 2022, June 18, 19, 2022
Part-time pre-camp prep work to be completed from December 2021 includes:
Monthly Evening Meetings Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, April (Exact date/time TBD) and Individual homework
Full Time Contract June 6 – Sept. 2, 2022
Leading program breakout sessions during Staff Training Weekends Friday June 3 – 5, & June 18 -19, 2022
As a condition of employment, a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening is required.
Valid driver’s license required.
