St. Joseph’s School in Vancouver is seeking a part-time school secretary, effective January 1, 2022. The position is 0.6FTE (three days per week). St. Joseph’s is a wonderful community of people who love and respect children and go above and beyond to support their learning and growth; our office staff are integral to the team.
The requirements of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Must be a practicing Catholic as evidenced by a Pastoral Reference Letter
Excellent interpersonal skills, as the representative of our school to both current and prospective families
Effective use of Microsoft 360 and Excel
Ability to use MyEdBC for student records (training to be supplied)
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to interact with and help students with respect and empathy
Capacity to be a liaison between parents, school, and parish
Solid organizational skills in order to maintain student records according to Ministry of Education standards
Ability to support principal, teachers and staff in various school programs
Flexibility and good problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively as a team member
The following skills would be assets to the position:
Ability to manage social media
