JOB DESCRIPTION – C OORDINATOR OF E VANGELIZATION

JOB SUMMARY

To develop, maintain, and administer evangelization for all adults of Christ the Redeemer parish. The coordinator will passionately share in Christ the Redeemer parish’s mission “To bring people to a deep and lasting relationship with Jesus in the communion and mission of the Church.” The coordinator will develop leaders who serve the community with their time, talents and treasure. She/he will seek new opportunities to evangelize and connect with parishioners and community members and equip parishioners for the mission of evangelization. Candidates should be well organized, exhibit strong communication skills (including Word, spreadsheets, email, and public speaking), and be able to lead prayer and direct and collaborate with parishioners and parish staff.

HOURS

Flexible. We will consider full-time, part-time or contract work. May include some weeknights and weekends.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively establish a Parish plan to implement evangelization effort among the various aspects of parish life; implement and foster this plan.

Help shape, formulate, and execute initiatives for evangelization together with the other members of the team

Network with leaders from other parishes, CCO, RCAV (including Proclaim) focused on parish evangelization efforts.

Collaborate with parish staff and volunteers to facilitate, track and integrate newcomers into the life of our parish community

Oversee the coordination of Alpha and work with Alpha coordinator and Parish office to ensure an excellent Alpha experience for participants and volunteers.

Facilitate parish Discovery and Faith Studies groups; provide leadership and support and opportunities for training for Faith Studies leaders.

Offer and promote “next steps” for all Alpha and Faith Studies attendees.

Work with parish team to gather feedback about current engagement initiatives and brainstorm future initiatives

Set, plan and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies

Engage with the parish community on digital platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube

Offer regular support, encouragement and presence to volunteer ministers and promote on- going evangelization opportunities.

Develop a set of workshops that ministry leaders can choose from for team development.

COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION

Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.

Experience or training in evangelization.

Excellent organization and time management skills. ability to receive information from multiple people, prioritize and ask questions as needed.

Strong oral, written and public speaking communication skills.

Comfortable making social media app and website announcements

An eye for design and working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) or other design software is an asset.
