HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT
Surrey Schools, recipient of BC's Top Employers and Canada's Greenest Employers awards, is a large, dynamic, and progressive School District with over 12,000 employees. We have an energetic and high functioning HR team and we are seeking HRA applicants for anticipatory vacancies over the next several months. We expect term positions and / or indeterminate positions in the next several months. Depending on the specific position, our HRAs perform a wide variety of duties including:
Providing general staffing, recruiting, health, and health and safety support to HR staff, Principals, or Managers.
Updating the department’s human resources information system (HRIS).
Providing information to unionized staff on collective agreement interpretations such as staffing procedures, leaves, and benefits.
Generating various Human Resources’ electronic reports.
Performing and leading other confidential administrative functions as required.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Office 365, HRIS experience and have recent highly successful experience working in a fast paced, high volume Human Resources department. Experience in one or more areas of Employee Health & Safety, Disability Management, Staffing and Recruiting in a unionized environment would be considered assets. A diploma in Human Resources is an asset. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality and flexibility.
The starting salary for this position is $54,299 per annum plus a liberal benefit package.
