After School Program Leader
For immediate start
St. Mary’s After School Care is in need of an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join our team as After School Program Leader. Our daycare and out of school care programs operate through the year in a bright, clean and well-maintained space. This includes full access to the school facilities, including 2 gyms and 3 outside playgrounds, catering to ages 5 – 11. The AS Program Leader will encourage and facilitate children’s participation in planned activities, providing guidance and instruction while monitoring individual and group behaviour to ensure a safe, nurturing, creative environment. The AS Program Leader works part-time Monday to Friday after school and full days when school is closed.
Our successful candidate will:
be 19+ years of age with sound judgement and meet the licensing standards of “Responsible Adult” or have equivalent experience.
enjoy fostering children’s sense of well-being, promoting feelings of belonging and inclusiveness.
be flexible to the changing needs of the children and programs.
work in a team environment, collaboratively with children and families, colleagues and administration.
have problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
maintain a neat, orderly and clean environment, including all activity areas.
have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
Commitment to Catholic education
Identification with and participation within a Catholic parish community (preferred)
Training specific to the role (Responsible Adult/ECEA/ECE preferred) with proven experience
Flexible schedule Monday to Friday 3pm – 5:50pm; 8:30-5:00pm days school is closed
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters
