Position to begin for the 2023-2024 School Year
An opportunity exists for a dynamic, enthusiastic leader in the role of Principal at Dr. Ken Sauer School. We are seeking a principal to lead our staff of approximately 13 teachers and 12 support staff. This position will allow an individual to create an inspirational and creative work climate. A strong focus on students and their achievement, along with a passion for excellence are traits this leader will need to demonstrate. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong background in effective pedagogy and current assessment practices. The school is located in North East Crescent Heights and will offer programming for about 300 students from Kindergarten through to grade 6.
The successful candidate should have a strong background in the following:
Inquiry based learning
Cross-curricular integration
Outcomes based assessment and reporting practices
Implementation of new curriculum; foundational understanding of structured literacy and mathematical proficiency
Understanding of cooperative learning
Establishing partnerships with parent/guardians through intentional communication of learning,
Maintaining collaborative professional learning communities
Ability to work with other agencies
Ability to build an inclusive environment
Collaborative Response Model; demonstrates an ability to respond to appropriate data and embed progress monitoring routines
