Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta, runs three schools accredited by the Province of Alberta. We are requiring a (1) High School English/Social Teacher & (1) High School Math/Science Teacher in the fall 2022 for the Tustukeeskaws School.

The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education & Teaching experience in related field

The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; e.g. students, parents/guardians, administration, elders

Knowledge of the Alberta School Act and the Alberta Program of Studies

Understanding of local culture and traditions

Strong oral and written communication skills

Willingness to advocate and participate in outdoor activities

Demonstrate healthy living by example

Successful applicants will possess:

An undergraduate degree in Education - specialized in secondary education with majors & minors in English and social, math and science.

Hold a valid Interim or professional teaching certificate from Alberta Education

Pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

Knowledge and understanding of how to engage in relationships at the individual, familial and community levels

Demonstrate cultural sensitivity

Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills

Excellent computer skills would be considered an asset.
